Carter and Dabareiner Earn VaSID Volleyball Honors
ASHLAND, VA -- Randolph-Macon College Volleyball All-Americans Mallory Carter and Marli Dabareiner have been named First-Team All-State by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID).
The all-state awards are in addition to AVCA Honorable Mention All-American honors, AVCA All-Region accolades and First-Team All-ODAC selections for both student-athletes following the 2011 season.
Carter finished the season with 443 kills which is an R-MC single season record. She was tops in the league with a 4.10 kills per game average, while playing the one of the toughest schedules in the South Region. Carter also ranked in the top-10 league wise in service aces (42), service aces per game (0.41) and hitting percentage (.237). Carter accounted for a league best 500 points on the season and her 4.6 total points per game was best in the league. Defensively, she had 343 digs which ranks 13th best in the ODAC.
Dabareiner averaged 5.12 digs per game which was tops in the ODAC. Her 466 stops are sixth-best in s single season for R-MC.
R-MC finished 24-6, captured its third consecutive ODAC Championship and advanced to the second-round of the NCAA Tournament.
