Eight Yellow Jackets Named to All-ODAC Swimming Team
SALEM, VA - Eight members of the Randolph-Macon College swimming team have been named to the All Old Dominion Athletics Conference Swimming Team.

Headlining the Jacket selections were senior Shafer Busch, junior Hallie Stewart , sophomore Corinne Campbell and freshmen Lara O'Brien and Sarah Almond who all earned First-Team All-ODAC accolades. Junior Marlene Graf and freshmen Kellianne Mullin and Brianna Lovell earned second-team laurels as well.
In addition to having the best ODAC time in the 100 fly this season (1:01.57), Busch was named the ODAC Swimming Scholar Athlete of the year by the league's Sports Information Directors. Busch fashions a 3.63 GPA while double majoring in political science and international studies and a minoring in French at Randolph-Macon. In the pool this season, Busch was named the ODAC Swimmer of the Week, helped set the R-MC school record in the 200-yard medley relay, the Estes Pool record in the 200 Freestyle Relay and owned the top time in the ODAC in the 100-yard butterfly. At the ODAC Championships, she helped lead the Yellow Jacket 400-yard freestyle relay team to a second place finish.
Stewart was named to the first team after a junior season in which her time of 1:01.59 in the 100 backstroke ranked second best in the league for the season. Campbell garnered all league honors with a time of 2:14.71 in the 200 fly, which narrowly missed the R-MC record which she already owns.
O'Brien and Mullin each had successful rookie campaigns for R-MC in the pool, with O'Brien being recognized as all league for her performances in the 400 IM and 1650 free, while Almond's time 55.34 in the 100 free was tops in the ODAC in 2008-09. O'Brien's time of 18:19.09 ranked first in the ODAC this season.
Graf was honored for her performance in the 500 Free, while Mullin was selected for the 200 IM, 100 Breast, 200 Breast and Lovell for the 400 IM.
R-MC was 11-3 in dual meets this season, and finished in second-place at the ODAC Championships in February.
