Men’s Swimming Defeats Catholic, 140-115 on Senior Day

ASHLAND, Va--- R-MC's men's swimming topped Catholic, 140-115 Saturday afternoon in the Estes Aquatic Center.

Prior to the start of the meet, Randolph Macon swimmers took the time to recognize senior Carlos Perez for his contributions to the first year program.

The men opened the meet with a victory in the 200 Yard Medley Relay with a squad that consisted of Eric Whalen-Kelly, Robert Brajdic, Perez De La Rosa, and Corey Kreiter

Cole Chance paced R-MC with three first place finishes on the afternoon.  The freshman picked up wins in the 200 Yard Freestyle (1:53.55), the 100 Yard Freestyle (50.50), and the 200 Yard Breaststroke (2:21.15).  Hunter Morris placed first in the 1000 Yard Freestyle (10:15.89) and the 500 Yard Freestyle (4:59.91).  Morris also finished second in the 200 Yard Butterfly.

Brajdic finished ahead of the pack in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:04.57.  He placed second in the 200 Yard Backstroke and the 200 Yard IM.  Perez De La Rosa took first place in the 100 Yard Butterfly (54.47) and was barely beat in the 50 Yard Free to take second with a time of 22.56.

Preston Edwards won the 200 Yard Butterfly (2:03.48) and placed second in the 1000 Yard Freestyle and 100 Yard Butterfly.

The 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Perez De La Rosa, Whalen-Kelly, Morris, and Chance earned a victory in the final meet of the day with at time of 3:23.56.

The men are back in the pool on February 16th when they travel to Charlotte, North Carolina to compete in the Blue Grass Mountain Conference Championships.  Start times are to be announced.
